Just wondering, is there some target of spell power or crit where one of the Pyromancer armors become better than the other?

The 35/31 or the 36/30 pyrolock specs:
If you are just grabbing normal gear in dungeons, gsb n then ros.. then somewhere at around 1300spellpower, the firearmor will be about equal and around 1500spellpower the firearmor definitly will take over.
The 51pyro specs:
Always pyromancer armor, i believe for every talent point in pyro, your cinderburst chance to proc increases.
just worked 10 hours arggh how to explain ehm :X

Okay so the cinderburst percentage is about 5-15% of your dps. The other 85% are other spells. Cinderburst has a high spell coeficient i believe, so that at low spellpower, the thing still nukes, and that becomes a huge dps boost. And if you try to increase your other spells with 5%.. increasing rubbish dps with 5% is still rubbish. So nuking is your best shot.
However when your spellpower gets higher your cinderbursts still nuke, but every other spell becomes quite powerfull. And you could even allmost reach the same dps on a target dummy without using 1 cinderburst on the dummy.
I think my explanation its a bit off, but thats the reason. I think bluedot parses best around 1200spellpower with pyromancer, at 1400 he got confused, and at 1600 its definitly firearmor with 36/30 :P

It can also be taken into consideration that Pyro Armor procs can be a tiny bit more work than not having to worry about extra procs. If both armors are parsing close. Shooting off an extra CB can potentially make you lose Combust stacks etc.
If you're running a 36/30 or so with Fire Storm and/or doing a decent amount of AoE'ing in general, then Fire Armor benefits here as well and would be the thing to go for.
Hope this helps a bit as well :)

Just wondering, is the SP requirement for Fire Armor to be highest DPS with or without buffs, ie I must have 15-1600 SP before buffs for Fire Armor to parse higher, or it can include raid buffs?
Also, would you still use Cinderburst on opportunity procs, or not?
Thanks!

Iirc back in the PyroEle days Fire Armor was considered better once you had 1500 SP buffed.
These days everyone and their dog will be above that so I wouldn't use Pyro Armor ever in a 36/30 or 38/28 spec.
You would still use Cinder Burst on Opp procs since Pyro Armor procs reset the cooldown.

I meant if using Fire Armor, would you still use Cinder Burst on Opp procs? Or not bother?

Aye, use it on procs. Doesn't have to be immediately though.

Yes, absolutely use CB on an Opp proc. I even throw an insta-CB during heatwave because the CB damage is > FB and you don't have to worry about combust stacks.

Also, fire armor is currently bugged to receive double benefit from "improved mage armor" in the warlock tree. Pyrolock builds will receive +25% damage from fire armor and only +10% from pyromancer's armor. The mage dev on the forums (Kervik) has acknowledged this and said it will be fixed some time in the future, but as of right now fire armor is superior in pyrolock builds regardless of sp.
