Welcome to the new Bluedots.

This is still in Beta, and the old version will remain available for some time here: (http://bluedots.org). Starting very soon all new content will be published here to facilitate the transition.

I would like to take a few minutes to explain my vision for this site.

My first goal is to transition away from being a blog, into being a community. Something I have learned through this experience is that I cannot ever know everything. I have been strictly limited to 1 class (Mages), and for the most part only one side of that class (PvE). This is the limitation that comes from having a high standard for quality, and being mostly a 1 man show. This leads into my next goal, having many authors.

There are countless guide writers in the Rift community, many of them never get recognized for the tremendous work they put in. I would like to remedy that by providing a popular place for them to publish their work and have free control to maintain their guides. While there is a forum attached for open discussion, most guides will be published as articles, where as long as they are maintained, they will never be bumped down. In other words, the site is designed for gaming guides, and making sure the best and most accurate information is quickly available will be the number one priority.

This semi-open publishing will be available to anyone who wants to write a guide, however new articles will be read by myself or a moderator to verify it isn't plagiarism or a troll post, before going live. This is in line with my third goal which is to maintain a strict level of quality throughout the site.

The authors will have options for shared revenue. Authors will be paid 100% of the revenue from the Ads on articles they write. If this program interests you find out more here: http://bluedots.org/beta/showthread....luedots-Author

I have no intention of flooding the site with Ads, their primary purpose will be to give the authors something back for their work. The Ads will be tasteful and not hinder the delivery of information.

While this will be a community where people can ask questions and share information, this will never be another Public Forums. This is a place to discuss strategy and theorycraft, to learn and develop your character, and to enjoy the company of other players with similar goals. It is not be a place to bitch and whine about the game. Despite popular belief all opinions are not equal and if you find yourself forming thoughts like:
"Omfg trion sux caus rogus r OP and the devs hate clerix"
Then you probably won't find yourself right at home here.

If you are looking for information, or if you have information to share then you'll find this site very useful.


What about Bluedots Donors?

I plan on expanding the Bluedots Donor plan to fit the changes with the site. This will very likely include a unique name color, and special recognition as a "Founding Donor" within the community. It will also have all the same features including an exclusive Video Guide series.
