1.7 Shaman DPS Guide (melee)

Summary

The following is a basic guide for cleric single target dps using Shaman. This method requires you to be in melee, so even though it tends to provide higher dps than inquis, you may choose to stick with inquis for some fights in order to be ranged. Like any guide, it is just a place to start. You will want to stack SP and try to get 4-piece crystal. This method is based off a guide by Staris.

If you're not in a raid then use a stat buff

Single Target Rotation

1. Keep Lightning Hammer up (refresh it after it ticks off)
2. Spam the single target macro

While parsing, keep in mind this method has very high variability between parses. You could get a low parse, then a high parse, so when you are comparing it to other specs, either do really long parses or take the average of multiple parses.

AOE Rotation

1. Turn on vengeance of the Primal North
2. Spam AOE macro

Don't forget to change back to Winter Storm for single target!
