Might as well add defile and use 38/28 imo
buddens- its the buff from the HK lock crystal.
And if you dont have 4-piece HK gear, then you're probably in a guild where you can use my ez-mode 36/30 method, and be top on the meters. And that's not meant to be sarcastic.
You need 38 in lock to get Defile
Well, what we're discussing is the BEST way to do it. There's no way a set rotation can match the dps of a priority system, especially in a raid. Do you use karruul alerts?
Nothing was wrong with him talking about a dot that lasts a year. Where he went wrong was saying it would do 1 dps. He forgot about the fact he could sit there for a year adding dot after dot...
Calmethar- You have a very good point- if the boss is about to die then you have to stop casting the long dots (maybe just spam fireballs).
Zan- If I had dots that did 10k damage over 1 year, then...
Zan- they both tick 9 times, SV is over 8 seconds and DT is over 16 seconds. Although SV does "more dps", they both do almost the same damage per global cooldown (the 1 second it takes you to cast...
Zan- you sure they increased the tick damage? When I tested it on the PTS way back when, it ticked for the same amount. Either way, I just tried both spells and DT is doing a tiny bit more than SV....
I removed it because
1- the alerts are a bit different now (need to add LL, sac life)
2- if i post the code, the blogging system formats it and it doesent work
Hamster- the full rotation of dots works great on the dummy, just make sure your archon waits a while to hit flaring. As far as the people who arent parsing higher in 1.8... well they must be doing...
Let me know if your dps goes down; sometimes theory doesn't always work.
pinny- using inactive macros, you can just let IC fade off. You could also manually turn it off after each dot, which may give you a bit more dps.
Well the defile buff lasts an extra 4 seconds, so unless your moving or get a few opp procs in a row, it should be up for LL. The list shows "defile buff" before LL, and then the defile spell after....
38/28 has a huge ramp-up time, regardless of the starting rotation you use. My starting rotation is based on when flaring power is usually used. If flaring gets casted right at the begining of the...
Kabeleth- the whole idea behind this ez-mode 36/30 rotation is that you never have to worry about charge. So if you use sac-life for HW and [notactive] macros everywhere else, you never have to...
Yeah that's almost exactly what I thought about doing. Interestingly enough, last night in ID I used the ez-mode 36/30, because it has good AOE, and I ended up pumping out pretty good ST damage when...
Well it sounds like you guys are talking about a rotation that has complexity in between Method #1 and #2 used in my guide.
voters01- just keep practicing the rotation until your parses are consistent. And if you are really worried, go back and re-read the guide to see if your missing something.
I know, thats why I put SL in the HW macro.
As far as difficulty, I wanted to make something that wasent harder than my 1.7 guide. With the addition of LL, you now have to keep track of 4 dots...
With my 36/30 method, you dont turn off IC. The notactive macros turn it on for all the dots, and then you let it fade. That's why I said there is no charge management at all. Obviously it reduces...
Yep, that's how it works crovack
I'm so confused.
Couldn't agree more. There's no point of learning the "36/30 variant with optimal rotation" because you might as well just do 38/28 with optimal rotation.
If anyone here is good at both...
Calmethar- If you read my guide, you will find out that the rotation we are talking about does not use sac-life, other than at the beginning of HW. The whole point of this method is to make an easy...
