1.8 38/28 Guide Discussion Thread

Fridge, if you are going to use that system, you might as well throw defile in and do 38/28. I was just trying to come up with something that was watered down, for people who want an easy rotation.

The 'easier' rotation or spec might just be to play 51 Lock, Rexer. Not sure it's worth it to make other versions or rotations of 36/30. Though it might help some of course.

I think what we should address in this forum thread, is the fact that the optimal rotation wont be do-able for most people (at least during bosses). So we need methods to make it easier, without sacrificing too much dps. As far as complexity, it should be in between the 2 methods I use in my guide. One thing I want to try is leaving out SV, DT, or both, and seeing how much dps is lost.

I just wondered what's the point in taking draining bolt, a spell u will never use, and Neddra's Essence, which u will always think just after u're dead "I should have used it!", rather than taking 2/5 in vitality, which is a passive HP buff?

Draining Bolt is a very small DPS gain if you use the Deathtouched Soulstone Greater essence.
If you're dying without using your defensive cds then you're doing it wrong and you should be.

I can see dropping draining bolt for 1/5 vitality, but for a serious raider Neddra's Essence should be grabbed, and hotkeyed to a quick-to-press key.

Schwarzschild is another plugin that might be useful, though I do believe it is a bit difficult to find a nice place on the UI for it. Not 100 percent sure that's the spelling, I'm pretty sure it's named after the physicist associated with the type of black hole associated with his name.

@Doobism: I thought they changed it so bards cannot use that macro for motifs anymore, thus rendering it useless for dot macros. But I could be wrong and the rogues I know who keep telling me this are trolling me and know I'm too lazy to actually get on my rogue to set all that crap up and test it.

The one they fixed was aliasing, different method, same result. I can't say for sure keybinding still works on live, haven't tried in a couple months, but it was definitely still working after the aliasing method was stopped. Aliasing had some other issue with it, I can't remember why Trion saw a distinction between the two. (They both became known on the rogue forums at about the same time)
